Chancay Recycled Mask

About This Product

This recycled paper mask is perfect for those with eclectic and worldly tastes!  The Chancay Valley, 50 miles North of Lima between 900 and 1400 A.D., the Chancay culture was integrated by fine ceramists and textile artisans. The general style of their work is characterized by simple and sober designs which are beautifully called forth on this captivating mask. Decorated with a crown of vegetal fibers, it will add a Peruvian rural accent to any home interior.

Using a combination of recycled paper and plaster, Jaime Zapata Espinosa explores his profound Peruvian roots, finding the spell for giving life to such elements and transforming them into a vibrant celebration of a glorious past. Made with loving patience, each mask is unique and can express every feeling in the human heart, from happiness to deep sorrow.
